Corporate awards evening - event flowers and foliage

Lokale Blumen was commissioned for an awards evening in Sydney at the Art Gallery of NSW.

Typically, the entrepreneurs in the running for an award receive yellow rose buttonholes on the night, a long-standing tradition all over the world.

However, as yellow roses typically don’t grow naturally during winter in Sydney, and would carry nasty air miles…. we suggested to the client locally grown Inca Gold Yellow Leucadendrons. They swiftly agreed! The final buttonhole design is pictured here.

Our design reveals the beauty of the mostly unseen part of this incredible flower. Hailing from the Proteaceae family, the Inca Gold Yellow Leucadendrons are at their peak at the end of winter, after the solstice has passed. Read more on that here at the Swallows Farm blog

In addition to the buttonhole design, we combined dry sculptural elements and foliage with fresh yellow buddelia for the remainder of the event florals.

All florals and foliage here were foraged and farmed in and around Sydney, NSW.
